How To Upgrade From Emc 7?

ronv-nj

Question

Originally EMC 7 was installed on 32 bit XP. I upgraded to a machine with 64bit Win7 and want to upgrade to NXT 2. In reading the forum it seems that in order to upgrade you need the previous version already installed. BUT EMC 7 won't install on 64bit Win 7, so what can I do to upgrade??? Am I missing something???

Thanks.

You do not need any version of Roxio, on your computer, to upgrade to any other version of the software, so don't worry about that issue.

Ron,

There is no software upgrade path from earlier versions to later versions. You can't get a download which will turn your EMC 7 into NXT 2.

You get the same software as a first-time buyer, but if you can show proof-of-purchase of a qualifying earlier version then you get it at an "upgrade price".

See this page, http://www.roxio.com/enu/upgrade_center/default.html?rTrack=m_sto_upgrade and click on the 'Creator 2012 and earlier' button and you should get $30 off retail price.

Regards,

Brendon

thanks for the quick reply GrandpaBruce. To be clear, you are saying that I can get the "discounted" upgrade version of the software, and install it on a 64 bit Win 7 machine that has no other version of Roxio on it.

Yes. As Brendon mentioned, it is the same software that a first time buyer purchases.
