REDWAGON
Is it possible to save a videowave pre-production and/or a mydvd production to an ext. hard drive or a usb stick so can be used on another pc with creator installed YES---HOWEVER Please note--The "Other" PC has to have the same version of the software installed (i.e. Roxio Creator xx with Videowave or MyDVD) AND the saved production of the "DMSM" Videowave file and/or the "DMSD" MyDVD saved file including all the files (video, audio and photos) that were used to make the original productions installed on the OTHER PC in a FOLDER named the same as the folder on the original PC. What happens when you save this on the other PC and try and open the production, it will look for a drive and folder where the original files were located. If the transfer was made to an exterior drive or USB drive with a different name, there is an option to tell the program where to go to find the original files. So be aware. REDWAGON
ah i see , thats why when i moved some photos around on videowave production ,when i went back to carry on it said they were missing......so if you transfer to another pc you have to take ALL the files used in the production with it. thanks for the help exactly---and not only that but where ever you transfer them they have to be on a disk and folder of same names. i.e.--if the original files were on the "D" (assumed) drive in a folder named (whatever you called it) then the transferred information has to be the same names so the program can find them. This possibly could me using the "computer Management" program to rename some of your HD's. That and another way when the program can't find the files after you have transferred them---when you open the program there is an option to show the path to the program where they are by browsing to that particular location where you transferred all your files. outerbank
Not to sidetrack the discussion, but would it be possible to achieve the same objective by having one computer share files with another computer? That is, the computer that contains the files, etc. that were used to create the production, is configured to share files with another computer that also has the same Roxio Creator software installed. Brendon
Don't think that'll work, Outerbank. [by the way, the topic is "solved" - see post #2] Roxio software is not designed to work over networks. If the network can't maintain a rock solid data stream the burner buffer runs dry and you get a fatal buffer underrun, even on burners with 'buffer underrun protection'. The basic requirement is to have your data on a local drive with the production files accurately pathed to those data.
