Game Capture Hd Pro More Like Nope

KocoBean

Question

I ordered my HD Capture Card three days ago and had it shipped with two day shipping. When I got it, I needed to go get a Component cord(Which Im not too mad about) So I get home and I start playing Blazblue (PS3) to see how it works. Works good and I also got to record a sample video to put on

. The quality is fine and so on but the problems started when I moved my ps3 downstairs. When I came back up to my den and plugged it in my capture card was acting all funky so I decided to play a few rounts then plug it back. So I did and it looked like it was working so I hopped into the player lobby to record some online play. I had a great match against an Arakune which ended with me getting my Astral off. When I went to edit it and export it (With the Editing software YOU gave me) It was only five seconds long. So I jumped into some Player vs AI to see if it would keep happening (which it did). After countless hours of trying to fix the problem Im giving up. I sent in a return for the product which I can cancel. Any help with the bug/problem? If not RIP in Pieces

PS. Before you say its my computer.

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-3220 CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs)

Memory: 8192MB RAM

(Display)

Card name: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series

Chip type: AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (0x6818)

Display Memory: 4095 MB

This is not Roxio Support - it is a peer to peer discussion group, so no one here 'gave you anything'... ;)

FEW if any capture devices come with cables  If they do, YOU pay for them and you pay a lot more than you would on your own (one of my BD Players included an HDMI Cable for a mere $80 more). AND that is clearly stated on the box as well as the web site...

Your PC looks OK and considering it did work then stopped, something else is the cause...

I'm not following your setup. You have your PS 3 downstairs and you are running a line to your PC upstairs?

That would be a pretty long line!

If so, is that the same component cable you were using before???

If you use Windows Explorer to look at the short capture file, how long does it show the file to be?

As for my set up. I moved my ps3 downstairs and left the Capture card and component cables in my den. When I brought it back up I hooked everything back up they way I did before. And most of the captures show a time of 00:00:00 except for one that shows a length of 08:51:34

Thanks for clearing that up, I have visions of a cable that would look like wrestling with a giant squid

It comes down to either the PC or the RGC???

You can try a proper repair to make sure the software hasn't been corrupted:

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Then I would suggest that you use a DVD or BD Player for a test capture - anything that you can hookup with HDMI or Componet will do ;) (this way you have a known good source)

If that goes well try the setup you used before to see if it works now.

Update: Well I fixed it, but it maybe the most ragtag way ever. I plugged the component in with the HDMI input and that seemed to make it work. Sorry for the harsh opening, I am just short on cash and really want my youtube stuff to take off. But now the component cuts out when it is picking up the video to record, so it only gets a second of recording time.
