Roxio Backup Mypc 7.0

niassen

Question

Hi.

I recently made a Back-Up using Roxio BackUp MYPC, that came bundled with HP p6034sc. Believe it was Roxio BackUp MYPC 7.0

I then made a factory-reset on my PC, trusting there would be no problem re-installing the back-up.

But, I can not find the program anywhere.

Lost all my documents and pics.

Can anyone please help?

The back-up file is a .qic

Thanks in advance

Jens

MO,

It wasn't me asking you for the full name, since you had already given it.

Would you please run the program and go to the Roxio Creator 9 Home page.

There go to Help >About this software, and just under the Roxio Creator 9 Home line there's a line for Version and one for Build.

Which version and Build numbers do you have, please?

I've sent you a PM [private message]. Please click on the letter icon to receive it.

Hi Alex,

There was only one particular version had BackUpMyPc, seen here as "System Backup"

The rest never had it.

Your trial version was without that and without a number of other features. It can't be converted to a "full" version.

I have a similar problem to the above posters. I cannot find BUMP 7.0 within my Creator 9, Version: 9.0.136, Build: 901B36F, RTF. Where is BUMP located in Creator 9? If it is not to be found in my version, can you help me acquire a version which does contain it?

Click on the icon on your desktop, then click on Backup, then click on System Backup, and BUMP 7 opens.

Hey MO,

Yes, that's your problem - you have version 9.1, which doesn't have BUMP.

BUMP 7 was in version 9.0, and BUMP 7.5 was in version 9.05, but the Mystical Masters dropped it completely from the 9.1 version. That's commerce for you.

If you action the last paragraph of my PM I'll get moving on it.

Cheers,

Brendon

Edit:

We got a copy of version 9.0 to Mo, and with a lot of work he got all his files back. :)

Hi Brendon

I have the same situation as Jen but have not found Bump7.0 in my Creator 9 suite. Can you tell me how to access it.

I purchased Craetor 9 several years ago and the restore my pc was a download.

Thanks MO

P.S. I.ll take your advice as soon as I can get my pictures back

Can you post the full name of the program you have since there is no such suite as "Creator 9", there is a Easy Media Creator 9 and a Roxio Creator 2009

Well, I'm very happy to say that worked out fine.

Jens has managed to get a copy of Easy Media Creator 9, and BUMP 7 in that suite has restored his missing documents and pictures. -A great relief.

A suggestion for those of you out there who need to backup their precious stuff:

Rather than using a special backup program which might not run on new Operating systems when you need to restore it, write your precious stuff to a plain data disc that anything can read. Keep a couple of copies of that in separate safe places.

Best wishes,

Brendon

Hello again Jens,

This company [Adaptec > Roxio > Sonic > Rovi > Corel] has incorporated a large selection of backup programs in its suites over the years as it acquired other companies or was acquired by them. I'm pretty sure that a backup made with BackUpMyPc [bUMP] cannot be restored by other software because they're all so very different and written by different people.

You used BUMP so you'll need BUMP to restore the backup. You might need version 7 exactly, or version 6 might do it. I have an idea, but I'd rather not discuss it publicly. If you look up near the top right corner of this page you should see a small letter symbol with a red '1" on it, like this:

Hi Brendon.

Thank tou for your quick response.

I allready tried that, they told me to ask here.

So problem still not solved.

Forgot to tell i am running windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

Wondering about, if i buy one of the newer back-up softwares from Roxio, if that would be able to restore my back-up?

I just dont want to spend 100,- US-dollar on something i can not use.
