I'm considering buying the Game Capture HD Pro and I have a few questions perhaps some friendly soul can help me out with.
Today I'm using the excellent free program OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) to record my PC-gaming localy or sometimes stream. It's a great program but it's an annoyance that I have to make new scenes every time I change game. I thought maybe a game capture-device such as this could help with that. Also, It would be fun to record some console-gaming too as I've never done that before.
Hopefully someone have experience of this and can help me out.
My PC:
CPU: AMD FX 8350 4.0GHZ
Graphics: Radeon HD7950 Hydrocell 3GB
RAM: 16GB
I'm using 2 monitors, at least one of them have HDMI.
These questions are about PC-gaming using only 1 computer for both playing and recording.
1. I don't have a second computer or laptop. I've heard that a capture-card takes much of the load from the computer/CPU when recording or streaming. Do anyone know if running the Roxio Game Capture HD PRO and Open Broadcaster Software as well as playing the game will work without lag on my computer?
2. I've read there's a 2-3 second delay as the Game Capture processes the file. Is this a stable delay or does it vary? I' wondering since I'd like to know if I can use my microphone and webcam in OBS without the game from the Game Capture going out of sync. (It's possible to set a delay on webcam/microphone in OBS but that doesn't help if the Game Capture delay isn't stable.)
3. I've heard rumours saying that the sound from the game don't end up in the recording when on PC. That got me thinking. As a graphicscard don't have any audio-output, where DO the Game Capture get the PC-game sounds from?
Might have some follow-up questions but these 3 are the most important ones.
