Device Manager Does Not Recognize Rgc

Question

Hello!

I would like some help regarding the lack of signal and input on the Roxio Game Capture Software; On the recording software, no source shows up whatsoever (I have it conected to my computer by HDMI) though it reads my HDD just fine...

I feel like this may have to do something with the drivers, seeing as my computer doesn't recognize the device and just lists it as a "transcoder" (I have windows 7 ultimate)...

Any ideas in terms of this matter? Honestly I don't even know how to set it up... Most people here use the Roxio for console game capture, but I'm trying to record my PC gameplay.

Thanks for your time and consideration!

Sincerely,

I suspect you plugged in the device before installing the software disc that has the correct driver!

With the device plugged in right click uninstal/delete the transcoder entry in device manager. Now unplug the Roxio device from the PC, reboot the pc. When it's up and running again insert the software disc in a drive and choose repair when offered, when it's done reboot the PC, when it's up and running open device manager and plugin the Roxio USB device.

What does it show for a driver now?

How do you setup/connect the RGC device if you are capturing PC Game play , ie there is no console play involved?

  • Play in HD on your TV. Capture in 480p.
  • Smaller file sizes for faster sharing.
  • Video editing software made for gamers.
  • USB, RCA and Component cables included.
  • Supports Xbox 360, PS3 and PC Game Capture.

Unplug your Roxio. Put your CD in the tray. Run installator. Click Repair.

If doesn't help:

Unplug everything. Uninstall. Reboot. Install again. Then plug your RGC.

The OP needs to delete the driver 'transcoder' before attempting any repair or reinstall!

I tried both of your solution and it still doesn't work... Do you know what else could be wrong with it?

If your trying to capture PC Game Capture?

Capture PC gameplay using graphics cards with HDMI output to the Roxio Game Capture HD PRO capture device.

Is this what your doing or should be doing?

First the 'transcoder' has to be deleted/uninstalled before the correct driver will install, then make sure your hooked up correctly.

Are you sure you followed my instructions to the 'T'?

There is a more extensive uninstall/reinstall if you want to give it a go...

But as cd has mentioned a couple of times you MUST delete Transcoder in your Device Manager if it still shows up when you plug in the RGC Device!!! ~ if windows associates the RGC with the Transcoder driver then NOTHING can break that bond except deleting it!!!

I suggest printing this and using it as a check list:

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Download and install the
Uninstaller. Then run it in
Moderate Mode
to remove any traces of Roxio.

Create a New User Account with Administrator Privileges.

Turn OFF any A/V & Firewall.

Reboot and log on to that new account.

Copy your entire disc to a new folder on your HDD.

In that new folder, right click on Setup.exe and select Properties.

Under the Compatibility tab, make sure
nothing
is checked!

Right click Setup.exe and select Open.

Allow it to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio not Windows)

Use the Default Locations!
