PPCS
I am trying to create a menu of 6 video clips on to one disc. I record 1 clip with title, stop recording, add another recording with a separate title and when complete THEY ARE BLENDED!! How can I ensure this does not happen. It does not happen constantly.? Jim_Hardin
Not sure HOW you are doing it??? Of course it Only Works when you Export to a DVD. I have 4 clips here and note that I change the sequence of them before burning:
PPCS
I open VHS to DVD Icon on desktop, I have 2 options "Record to DVD" or "Record Edit & Save" according to instruction booklet I chose "REC Ed.& Save", I give video a name press play on my output device (DVD),click record button on screen under the video name, I see the video clip on the screen and it says its recording. when complete, I press stop. Some times it shows on the video list like in your screen shot, and some times it does not. I then prepare the next video clip, give it a name, press play on output device, press record, shows recording, is see video playing. Press stop when complete. It does not show up on the video list but the first clip shows on the video list NOW with a play time of BOTH Clips?? I Did notice however ONCE when I opened "REC. Edit & Save" it said start new project? but it didn't make a difference. I have tried now 4 times to get this to work and it is not consistent in adding to the video list? ARG A lot of time being wasted trying again and again.
PPCS
How Do I delete all the "Attempts!" of recording the clips that I actually did not burn. I am trying it again and it gives the video name (4) copy 4 I imagine. I have not actually burned anything yet because It has been joining the clips... they are not showing separate titles only the record length is increasing. but not consistently. I am trying to record 6 clips onto a dvd and I usually only end up with 4 titles and the rest blended.
Jim_Hardin
But without a screen cap, I only have your word that you are doing it as I have laid out You MUST have separate movie clips in the right column AND have the 'Add Menu' box at the left, Checked. (Mine has Four movie clips): Note that the text box on the left 'DVD Title:' does 2 things... It adds that to the DVD as a Disc Label (Limit of 16 Characters) and Adds it as the Title of the Main Menu
PPCS
Well, I do not know how to paste a screen shot into this comment space. It will not work for me. My problem is: when I record each clip, it does not create a separate clip on the right. A Stop point, new title and start should create this. It can t be complicated. I give the video clip a name, set the time, play on output, hit the record on the Roxio screen. it stops when time is up or when I click stop recording. I repeat the process and it blends the two.... SOMETIMES. The next time it will work correctly. WHY does it not separate the video clip each time? I am at a loss. It doesn't appear to be a complicated system. The little manual that came with it OR the online questions are no help for trouble shooting.
sknis
Have you tried to save the file, and then shut down and restart the program when you have made each capture? If all fails that should work and not be a difficult work around. Read this (link) about screen capture and posting on this forum. The blue text is a link to an article explaining how to do it. Click on the blue text and it should take you to the article.
PPCS
You must have a different version than I do... I see no where I can save the file. I would like to delete the recorded video's (that have not been burned yet) because now when I try to record it again it finds a video with the same title somewhere because now it is putting a copy # after video title. I'm at copy 5. I tried recording it again. clicked stop when video clip done. I've been waiting 10 minutes... no video list. nothing on the viewing screen but the edit bar shows blue as if something was recorded. How do I paste a screen shot for you? I have tried exiting the program and restarting. no difference. I also went to "file" "start an new project" No difference.
PPCS
Wow, I found where the videos are kept before burning. I may have it now. FINALLY. What a waste of time. They need to improve the manual or have better help icons.

Jim_Hardin
I do not rely on the program saving but rather MY doing an Export to a file Now if I have one contiguous capture and wanted to break it into parts for the sake of a menu, I would do trims from the large file to isolate just the part I wanted, followed by Export to file. It is tedious but that even holds true for the full Creator Suite. Nobody writes a manual/help file that covers everything That is why the forums are here
