Laser Disc To Dvd

I am trying to transfer all my "Laserdiscs" to newer DVD media. Has anyone else tried this before?

Can "Toast" create "chapters" in order to record?

All help would be grately appreciated.

Thank you so much in advace for your help and interes.

Sorry, I forgot to respond to your post. I also have a laser disc collection. You need an analog-to-digital conversion device such as the Easy VHS to DVD for Mac to capture the video from the laser disc player to the computer. After doing that you may or may not want to create DVDs. Most HDTVs can play h.264 MPEG-4 videos either via streaming or from a flash USB stick. Creating DVDs is an extra step you may not need and leaves you with a bunch of discs. Toast can make the DVDs, however, and you can mark chapters.

Be aware that your letterboxed laser discs will show the black bars on the top and bottom of the video. In this case you would have better-quality video if you bought the anamorphic 16:9 video DVD. In other words, you may want to be selective about which laser discs you want to digitize and which ones you want to replace with better quality versions.
