Only The Audio Is Burning To Dvd

Sue G

Question

Using Photoshow with Windows 7. I have created show for my daughter using 281 of her wedding pictures. After spending all day choosing photos and just the right music, the show is viewable on the internet. However, when I burn it to DVD, only the audio portion burns. Have never had this problem before. Please help!

Sue

So what did you update/change on your computer? What type of maintenance have you done since the program last worked properly? Can you do a Windows Restore to return the computer to a previous time when it did work?

What do you mean by export? What format are you converting your video? New camera? Sometimes too large an image size will cause problems; resize some of the images down and make a short video to see if that works.

Hey, I am having the same problem. I have used my desktop version of Roxio Photoshow successfully for a couple of years. Now, when I burned a slideshow to a DVD and play it--I can only hear the audio. There is no video. My desktop is a PC running Windows 8. I also tried to burn the photoshow on my HP laptop which is running Windows 7. I got the same results--no video. But, I can upload the slideshow I made on my desktop to my online Roxio Photoshow account. It uploaded and plays with no problems. Can any body help me?

Please start your own thread and give all your particulars and information on the files, your computers, etc.

Are you using only images or are there some videos also. Are you using crap blank DVDs - Memorex or store brands rather than good DVD from Taiyo Yuden-JVC or Verbatim?

Some people have has issues with burning very large images to a disc using this program. Reduce the resolution to around 720 by 480 so that the images are in the 3000 kb range.

I am also having the same issue. The Photoshow uploads and plays fine online line but yet when I try to make a DVD from my computer I get the audio.... but no pictures.

It seems this is something Roxio can easily fix. Could it be the reason they don't FIX It ..it's because they want to make money off your DVD's when we order directly from them.

There may be something in the images that the program doesn;t like. It never tell you but extra large images give the program hiccups. Use a PhotoEditing program to reduce the size of the images and the resolution to something that will work. I can;t give you any more specifics. You will have to experiment.

I'm assuming that you are using the desktop version. Output the Photoshow to a video file (mpg2 or wmv) and then play that. See if that works. Use the FREE VLC player from VideoLan to get the free player. If there is video in that it will play. WMP may not be able to play the DVD properly.

Sorry

Edit, The program has not been updated for a long time and broken things have NOT been repaired. It is still one of the best photo show making software if you use the downloaded version. Are you?

Thanks for your response. I got a new tower and downloaded Photoshow from the internet. Since I posted this, I reinstalled my Roxio Creator 12. I went back to the original Photoshow and imported the pics from there into a new show. Since there were 280 pics I didn't want to go thrum choosing them again from a file of over 700. They did not import in the same order so I am in the process of rearranging them. I did do a quick test of only 40 pics and added music. That did burn correctly. Will keep you posted. Fingers crossed!

Roxio doesn't even sell the DVD any more ! If you made DVD in the past and now you can't, there was some change on your computer that broke it. The downloaded PhotoShow would be no different than any other program on your computer.

Have you reinstalled the program? What operating system and what browser are you using? Did you play with the mage size as discussed earlier?
