Which Product Should I Buy?

total.newbie

Question

I don't know which product will accomplish my goal of capturing long bits of streaming audio (not music or internet radio) - lectures. I need something that will allow me to add tracks to break it up into manageable portions (so I can rewind and fast forward). I then need to burn this to a cd for play on any old CD player. Suggestions welcome. None of the product reviews mention adding tracks or if they do, not in layman's terms I can understand. Any help appreciated.

NXT (or many older versions of Creator) will allow you to use an application "Capture from Sound Crad" If you can hear the audio then you should be able to capture it. I don;t know of any length issues for longer "long bits of streaming audio". How long is long?

It will capture as a a wav file, an mp3 and three other options. You can capture as one long audio file or several smaller ones. For a CD, you need to use the wav format.

You can use on of the "Create Music Disc Projects" to edit the audio, create splits, and eventually burn to disc.

Roxio/Corel has a 30 day return policy on programs that don;t work the way you want them to.

BTW, there is a sliced up version of Creator that might just work for you. "Record Now Music Lab". I have never used it but the sales blurb (if you believe them, says that it should). Of course it is limited and cheaper.
