Burned Dvd's Work On Computers, Not Regular Dvd Player

mnagi23

Question

I'm sure I am screwing up something basic... I have tried burning Windows Media files or Quicktime files onto a DVD-R or a DVD-RW... I drag the file to the Roxio icon... go through the burn process.... when complete, I can put the DVD into any computer and see the contents fine...

However, if I try to put it in a regular DVD player (Ive tried 3 of them) nothing happens,, sometimes ERROR pops up...

What am I forgetting? Someone assist. Thanks!

You cannot simply burn video files and expect to play them on a DVD player. All you are doing is creating a data DVD disc not a video DVD disc. To create a proper video DVD that is playable on a DVD player you have to use the program myDVD (Create DVD from the Roxio home page)
