Occasional "digital" Noise In Audio Recording

noahfex

Question

I've been converting some VHS tapes using "Easy VHS to DVD 3" and almost without fail there will be a "digitized" noise that becomes part of the recording. It consistently happens but at inconsistent times. I've done multiple passes of videos and each pass the noise will occur at different times. I can't figure out what it is. My setup is very basic: latest version of Windows XP with a bunch of RAM and CPU and the A/V cables going to the "Easy VHS to DVD" USB capture device.

I've attached a clip of what I'm talking about. You'll notice that at the very beginning and very end the sound is normal. But the few seconds in between have a weird "digital" sound about them. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Random noise can be a bugger to prove what is causing it. Here are a few things to try:

Using a DVD player or camcorder should give a stronger signal than a VHS player........is the Roxio devices plugged directly into a USB2 port (i.e. no USB extension cable and/or hub).....different wires, short connections......different usb port......
