Question

Recommended Posts

Thanks for trying top help me. I have made mistakes and it turns out that everything so far was my fault. I thought I knew what I was doing apparently I did not. Somehow this new laptop got screwed up because I messed up somewhere setting things up. I have now completely refreshed this laptop and I am starting from scratch. Creator NXT2 has been removed and now I need to reinstall it. Please tell me how to do it. Thanks.

Follow these guidelines (link) for installing any program. The guideline has been around awhile so you will have to make the necessary adjustments.

I hope you kept a copy of the download so you can re install the program or paid for an extended download. Also remember that you have only about 10 tries for installation before you need to have the count reset.

I cannot find a copy of the download and i didn't pay for an extended download. Is there another way i can recover my download and reinstall? I had to wipe this thing clean and start over because something was messed up. My Roxio download was supposed to have been saved but apparently it was not, as i cannot find it. I tried to recover the account by submitting my email address and the last 5 digits of the card i used but it did not work, unless i did something wrong again.

Thought i had everything downloaded properly. Can't figure out how to get creator to burn. With creator 2011, all i did was "open existing project" right click on dowmloads , click burn then it would start. Can't do it here. I must be doing something wrong. Wanted to burn something to test this new software. Please help. I do have utorrent downloaded also.

I am confused by your use of the term "download"? I have no idea what you are doing here:" all i did was "open existing project" right click on dowmloads , click burn then it would start". What does uTorrent have to do with anything?

Pleease describe exactly what it is you are trying to do and what you are doing? "Download" means downloading data from a website and has nothing to do with running C2011.

I have had it with this NXT2 stuff. I am gonna make a call tomorrow and request a refund asap. I will just stick with the other version i have on another computer. My NXT2 was accidentally removed from my computer and i have tried with no success trying to recover it. I refuse to pay for it again and i see no option to buy a CD copy or an extended download.

Once i click on "open existing project, i can't figure out how to start the burn process. With creator 2011, all i did was right click on "download when it popped up on the left of the screen, then i right clicked then a drop down would show then i clicked on "burn". That may not have been the proper way, but it always worked for me.

Got the creator NXT2 purchased and downloaded. However, i use utorrent and now i can't figure out how to burn from utorrent. With creator 2011 it was easy. I click on "Open existing project", then i get lost from there. I was trying the came thing i was doing with creator2011. What am i doing wrong?

You cannot 'share' any copyrighted material, plain and simple!

Lending someone a DVD Movie or Audio CD to view/listen seems to be OK. But it they copy them in any way they have crossed the line...

Of course it does get a little more confusing if you have a Digital Copy that comes with some Movies and there are many, many sources where you can 'rent' a download to watch

But in the end the acid test is - Do I really think the owner of the Copyright intends for me to make and distribute copies of this???

I have Never been able to answer that question with a yes

All i wanna burn is video from my Son's Navy activities/Training, with permission from his command, plus a lot of stuff that was home made, not downloaded from the net. I just tried a TV show to try and figure what i was doing wrong. It's too easy to get caught doing something illegal and i refuse to take the chance. I am just gonna request a refund tomorrow and try again in April when i take my next vacation week. Thanks to everybody that tried to help, even though i seemed clueless due to misinformation i got from other people who i trusted. I'm new to this stuff and it's gonna take a little while for me to learn the right thing. Especially "digital guru" he tried his best, but i guess i got frustrated. Thanks again.

Did you register NXT 2 when you first installed it? Did you not make a backup of the downloaded program? Do you mean the downloaded program was removed from your computer or do you mean the installed program was removed?

Here is a link on how to re-download Perhaps you can use it.

I just burned a CD and everything worked fine as advertised. My Son tells me that i must have tried to burn a fake DVD file that i downloaded. Any ideas appreciated. Will try again later. Thanks.

I am sorry but I just don't understand what you are trying to do or what you are doing. What does uTorrent have to do with NXT 2 ????

Are you trying to create a data DVD a video DVD, a CD or what? What is the source you are trying to burn? Why are you trying to burn from uTorrent?

I am trying to burn a video DVD. I was told that utorrent was essential for Roxio to work properly. I was told that once i download something that utorrent would pick it up as it did with 2011 then i could start the burn. Apparently, this is not the case with Creator NXT2. If you think i should get rid of utorrent i will. I just don't know how to burn a video, (TV show) using NXT2. I feel like a real dope because 2011 never gave me any grief.

uTorrent is not required by Roxio, whoever told you that does not know what they are talking about.

uTorrent is used to download files from the internet (illegally in many cases and also a big source of viruses). I have no idea what you did using C2011.

Assuming that you used uTorrent to download a TV show (legally of course) then you would use NXT 2 to burn that video to a DVD. This would be the exact same procedure that would have been used in C2011. Of course the downloaded video would have to be in a format compatible with C2011 or NXT 2.

Are you trying to simply archive on the DVD the downloaded video or are you trying to create a video DVD that can be played on a stand-alone DVD player? There would be two complete different procedures involved.

It probably is not that hard to do... (IF you can get the software back )

I assume your end result is a DVD Movie. Is Blu-Ray of interest at all?

WHAT are your sources? Are they DVD Movies or downloads or tapes???

Give us that info and we can give you a rough outline of what you will be doing ;)

Walt, back in #18, he said he restored his computer to "factory fresh." So, he wiped everything out. It probably formatted the drive too, so no copy left there, and it doesn't sound like an optical backup got made.

I do pay a fee to do the legal thing. If it's not the legal way, i want nothing to do with it. I will get rid of utorrent and start over. A friend at my work, his older Son got snagged and is facing a fine of at least 18k after he was warned several times to stop what he was doing. I don't understand file sharing, i don't know how to do it anyway. Thanks for the help.

There is nothing illegal about using uTorrent, it is what you are downleading where the "legal" problem is relevant.

What do you mean by "I do pay a fee to do the legal thing"?

All i wanted to know is how to burn from creatorNXT2. That's all. It seems that i got some wrong information. If you can't help me, then i guess i'll have to seek help elsewhere. Thanks.

That is certainly not what you asked. You kept posting something about burning from uTorren, even your subject heading talks about burning from uTorrent.

We can help you on burning using NXT 2. First of all tell us what kind of DVD you want. Do you want to simply burn some video files to a DVD as data whichcan then be played only on a computer or do you want to create a video DVD that you can play on a stand-alone DVD player? Those are two completely different processes and use different programs from the NXT 2 suite. The process to burn to DVD (for either case) is basically exactly the same as with C2011.
