Unable To See Video On Tv

TheCannibalPizza

Question

I bought my roxio hd pro card last May, and it worked fine. 2 weeks ago I bought a new tv that uses HDMI cables (the old one couldn't use hdmi cables). I had to order a new cable because I only had one. Today the cable came in and I plugged it into the capture card. I turned my tv on and it said no signal (I did turn my xbox 360 on after plugging the cords into the capture card). I switched the cords around and still nothing. I went online and found tutorials and I followed them step by step and still it didn't work. I plugged the usb into my laptop and the capture program said that it couldn't find any signals.

Can anyone help me solve this problem? Thanks in advance!

You HAVE to have the RGC Device plugged into your PC! It will not work unless it 1. Powered and 2. the PC has the SOFTWARE INSTALLED!

Both conditions must be met or it will never work

The RGC Device adds HDCP Coding to the output and many TV's will not work when it is present...

If your TV works directly from your Xbox with the HDMI but not from the RGC, it is likely you will need a splitter BEFORE the RGC so you can run HDMI from the splitter to the TV and the other from the splitter to the RGC ;)

yeah im having the same problem

yeah well i got this from the friend and had to provide everything for it and i downloaded the software and it is all good but the t says no signa and i have seen this happen to a lot of people too

Does not appear to be anywhere near the problem that TheCannibalPizza is having...

Is your "no signal" on your TV or the RGC Software?

If the RGC Software start a new Topic about this and tell us how your hooked up and what color the 'no signal' is -_-

Edit - Soccer1010 already had a Topic so his posts were removed and put there!

I have "no signal" on both of the devices. I followed online video tutorials on how to set it up, with an hdmi cable going from the console to the card, and then one cable from the card to the tv and have the usb plugged into my computer that has the software. My tv comes up like there isnt anything running on that channel and the software says no signal under both componant and hdmi and the screen is black. If it helps I can post pictures of my setup

I removed Soccer's posts as he already had a Topic on this going on and they just distract and confuse the issue you are having!

Unplug your TV as it isn't needed at this point. Hook it in later but keep what I said in Post # 2 in mind as it may not work unless you do what I suggested there ;)

That brings us to a Red, 'No Signal' which means you are not providing a valid signal to the RGC Devcie...

You can test this using Any Other device that can put out a signal on HDMI!!! Use a DVD or BD Player even a camcorder - find something!

We have to nail down that part so you have a preview in the software and either a green 'Ready' or a red 'Signal Protected' message there.
