Texas Sing
I have several large mp4 files of Laser Karaoke video. I want to break each large file into independent chapters or files. There is distinct BLANK BLACK screens between each video. I've been using iMovie and breaking each manually into projects. Any ideas or instructions? andagetil
i use a video splitter called idealshare videogo to split video into chapters which has both Windows and Mac version. it can split video with or without re-encoding. it can split all kinds of video files like MP4, MKV, MOV, WMV, VOB, FLV and etc it even can split audio mp3, wav, m4a, aac, flac and etc. but it only divide video into chapters if the original video is divided in chapters or cue based. recources: http://www.faasoft.com/articles/split-mp4-video.html Faasoft MP4 Splitter does work for me. Happy with it.

tsantee
Just to be sure, are you wanting to create a video DVD? Presuming the answer is yes you can mark the chapters in iMovie and Toast will create chapter markers on the DVD at those points. You can have Toast create a Scene menu where there are thumbnail images at each chapter point. The video will continuously play from one chapter to the next so that may not be what you want. If you want each song to be its own title so you can name them in the menu then you should create individual videos in iMovie for each song just as you've been doing. Be sure to not check the box next to continuous play so the DVD returns to the menu after playing each title.
