Toast Titanium Error Code While Writing / Osx 10.7.5 Not Compatible?

Hocaspocas

Question

Hi Guys!

I'm running 10.7.5 OSX and I'm having issues while rendering on Toast Titanium 11.2, I keep getting this error code: See attached:

I restarted my computer running OSX 10.6.8 and it works like a champ, so that tells me that it's not the device or the media. Software issue? I may re-install back to 11 with no update but I had Blu-Ray burning issues for the reasoning of the upgrade. What do you uys think?

I've covered the problem with the Update Error in several other topics here. Download the Toast 11.2 update from Roxio's Software Updates page. Rename your existing Toast 11 Titanium folder in your Applications folder. Run the downloaded installer. You can trash the renamed Toast 11 folder if you don't want to keep the older version.

A medium error usually is fixed by using a different brand of blank discs. I suggest Verbatim discs for maximum compatibility with Mac optical drives.

Thanks for the response. I don't understand why it would be the medium when in my older operating system it worked fine, sounds like a software issue. I installed 11.2 and am currently running that. Guess I will have to go back to 11.0 as it was working fine till the update.

There may be an issue with Toast 11.2 when using its default "Best" burn speed. You might try setting a burn speed. While 11.0 is really buggy one thing it can do better than 11.0 is burn discs faster. You should keep both versions. Use 11.2 for creating and saving as a disc image and 11.0 for burning the disc image.

When there is a problem the drive is having writing to the disc the drive sends Toast the Medium error. It is common that this either is due to defective media or the drive's firmware is not well suited to that particular brand of discs. You can read user reports about the media you are using by inserting a disc and choosing Show Disc Info from the Recorder Settings menu. In the window that appears there is a link to a Web site where users submit their experience. You'll be surprised to see the broad number of different discs and how many are poor quality.
