Roxio Only Recording .0X Seconds

iAustin247

Question

I have had my roxio for a few years now, and starting to use it again keep getting a problem where when ever i record I only get .0x (x being a random number between 1-9) instead of recording what i want it to. In the softwear it says its "capturing" and then it creates a millisecond long video and when i press "stop capture" it does nothing, other that make it say "READY". i would LOVE for my roxio to work again! (if you guys need a video for whats happening in can make a video)

I don't think that the Version number is your problem...

Next step goes like this:

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Download and install the
Uninstaller. Then run it in
Moderate Mode
to remove any traces of Roxio.

Then turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When the Install competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

ok, will try now, hopefully this works :D

EDIT: Sadly, it didn't work. Now the program starts up correctly, but still the same issue, a red no signal even when my console is turned on and everything is hooked up correctly : / but this time the program doesn't crash when i click options etc.

Edit:  when i switch my monitor over to HDMI now it doesnt show the xbox

fixed the hdmi, switching them out seemed to fix it so it appears on my tv/monitor,now to test the roxio

YES!!!: the red "no signal' status is FIXED! now all i need is for it to record correctly

EDIT(and hopefully the last!): IT IS FIXED!!!! hopefully it stays this way and i have NO more problems with it recording .0x seconds :D

(im going to wait a little before making this 100% solved because before when it was working fine it "broke" and recorded .0x long videos)

EDIT: :( nope after one recording it continues to record at .0x seconds, now i need help again, with a different solution :P

Do you have 2 screens?

Cause the software can only record when it's on the 1st screen.

If so, on PC you can right click anywhere on the desktop and press Screen Resolution

Then, Identify.

Make sure that the recording software is on screen 1.

Based on your issue it seems to go back and forth so that's what i'm guessing cause sometimes it doesn't work and sometimes it does.

I don't recall anyone ever comming back to tell us if this worked...

First thing to do is to turn off your Anti Virus, Firewalls, Registry Cleaners, etc.

Unplug your RGC Device and put it aside until you are completely finished.

Now insert your Roxio Disc.

Be sure you accept the offer to Check for Updates (this is for Roxio, not Windows)

When you reach the screen where
Repair
is offered, choose that!

When the Repair competes, turn your AV & Firewall back on and reboot.

Ok i will try this now, thank you, and i will respond back!

Update: just restarted computer, going to test recording after i plug in and download device software for RGC...

Update2: now im having the RED No signal problem and my RGC says its in version 1.0, not 1.1 and that there is no update for the RGC - i may have to re-do the installation process or download the update off of Roxio's website.

EDIT: While re-doing the install it seems to have now downloaded the newest version.

EDIT: not sure why but the roxio continues to re-install itself once plugged in, not sure if correct and im being a dumb, or error :P

EDIT: Still says its in version 1.0 even though (i thought) it downloaded a newer patch during re-install...

Im not sure if I should download the new update on the roxio website or wait.

EDIT: just gonna try and record anyways (without update)

EDIT: i think i have to do the update because im getting the red no signal error.

part 2: have to update because of the red signal error

EDIT: ok this is weird, when trying to update it says i ahve the latest version, 1.1 but the RGC software says different...
