Left Channel Only Recording

gaucho

Question

I have been using Roxio Easy VHS to DVD for putting my Beta, Vhs, and Video Hi-8 tapes onto my computer. Everything has worked well. However, now I'm trying to use the Sound Editor software that loaded with the program. It works fine, but only records the left channel and does not give me the ability to change to both tracks. What am I doing wrong?

Probably nothing. Those are all mono devices so you will hear the audio from one side, Make up a rig that will take the mono output and split it into a right and left channel with a "Y" plug/wire. Use both the white and red plugs on the device.

There is a way of duplicating the audio from the left side or the captured video /audio and copying it to the right side. I don't have Sound Editor on this computer so I can't give you the exact directions. There is a post to do that but it was long ago . It may turn up in a search for something like "convert mono to stereo". I believ the poster was malatekid.
