Xbox Leads Dont Match Instructions

Darron

Question

Just installed this on my laptop, but having trouble with the connections. My Xbox leads, have 1 large connection at the back of the console, leading to 3 leads to the TV. Red, White, Yellow, standard audio left and right plus video. This works fine. However, the game capture instructions show 5 leads should be from the Xbox, the red and white audio leads, plus 3 more to be able to plug in to Pr, Pb and Y? I have these connections on the back of the TV, although admittedly never used them. So I am ok to run the leads from the Roxio Box to the TV, but only have 3 leads to put in to the box from the console. Plus, I don't know where to put the yellow lead, on the red and white audio. Do I need to buy a new connection lead that connects from the xbox then splits out in to 5 leads, not the 3 supplied? Any help appreciated as the support from Roxio / Corel is poor to say the least.

The Component cable for XBox didn't come with the console. You need to get one.

If you have a Gamestop nearby I'm sure they'd have one.Ask for the Component HD AV cable

You say you're using the Composite cable now.

What kind of TV do you have?

You'd get a much better picture switching to Component.

You only use one or the other.

Use the Red,Blue and Green to connect the new video cable to Pr,Pb and Y on the TV and use the Red and White on the new cable for Audio.

Many thanks for both replies. The link for a new cable didnt open - is this what I am after? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XBOX-360-COMPONENT-HD-TV-LCD-AV-CABLE-LEAD-WIRE-PHONO-/380323148891?pt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN&hash=item588d06b45b

Our flat screen TV has input for Pr, Pb and Y on it, plus the standard 3 coloured red, white, yellow. I gather by the 2 replies above, that ideally, buying the new cable would enhance our xbox play, let alone fit the requirements for Roxio?

If this cable is the correct one we need, I think the problem is solved - Xbox with 5 leads to Roxio, then I can use the CORRECT (!) diagram supplied above to then connect Roxio to the TV. And as you state, attaching to Pr, Pb and Y from Roxio is preferable, and something i know we can do on our TV. We are looking to improve our TV, so presumably i need to make sure these connections are present in any future purchase of a TV as well? Although i assume all new TV's will have this connection anyway.

If you can confirm, i will purchase the above lead and if i have any more troubles i will return here, and not bother to wait for the support to reply.

My 11 year old will finally get to test this purchase out I hope!

Thanks again
