Creator Nxt Pro

Question

Hi all, have installed Creator NXT Pro on my new pc that came with the user unfreindly Win 8.1,when i connect my digital camera to transfer pics and clips using Roxio it says to "Click the button for the device you wish to capture video " i did this but the drop down box where you normally select Removable Disc E ( at least thats what i had to do on my old Creator 2009 which will not work on Win8) is greyed out and therefore cannot make the selection , is there a quick fix for this to save me the hassle of a re-install please ?

Thanks again for advice....i can actually get the pics and clips off the camera using the other apps on the pc,its just that my Roxio Creator NXT prog will not for some reason ,and for the price of the software its a bit of a " bummer", although i appreciate it may be a Windows problem.

My old Creator 2009 did work for a while on Win8 perfectly, then it stopped working and pop ups stated it was not compatible, tried the Compatabilty methods but no-go ,when i attempted to uninstall Creator 2009 i had had the dreaded "blue screen of death" and had to re-install Win8,luckily i had a rescue disc , it did uninstall ok later.

On reading up on Creator 2009 it seems there is no fix for it to work on Win 8 , it will work for a while then pack up ,and only Roxio software post 2013 will be fully compatible for Win 8 .

Will maybe try to reinstall NXT later and see if it resolves itself.

That's quite correct.

See the compatibility page here http://corel.force.com/roxio/articles/en_US/Master_Article/000015286-Windows-8-Compatibility-for-Roxio-Products?&page=1&topicCategory=All&keyWords=compatibility%20windows%208&sb=new&source=kba

You will have to explain better what you are doing, preferably step-by-step

That message warning means that you created a menu that had unlinked references to menu items o to the movies that you are trying to burn to the DVD.

I know that one

Look in your Project Menu for a Button with nothing attached to it. It is added as an unlinked button but you could have renamed it. If you check its' Properties at the right, you find it connects to nothing.

(note that my button in this picture IS linked to all movies in project)

Hi Jim, thanks for the posting....i use a simple digital camera for pics and video clips, a Samsung ES27 and use a USB lead to connect.

It always worked ok on the Creator 2009 with WinXP .....i can download to other applicatuions on the pc but prefer the Roxio method as its simple, and am not that pc literate !!

If you inserted the memory card into the card reader on your computer and search for that card's contents using Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and didn't find anything, then your memory card is empty or you have issues with your computer's Windows installation !.
