Unable To Generate Chapter Menu

I recently upgraded to Creater NXT 2 from MyDVD VideoLab HD. I have had problems off and on "Generating chapter menus" after I create chapter points. I though the problem would go away when I upgraded to Creater NXT 2. I am still having the problem after uninstalling the old MyDVD and purchasing/installing the Creater NXT 2. I cannot find the "Generate chapter menu(s) and link to selected button" check box that is mentioned in the help section "Adding and removing chapters".

 

Has anyone experienced this problem ?

Make sure that, when in MyDVD, you are on Timeline, and under Project View, you click on the Menus tab, not the Movies tab, before you generate your menus. This should work to generate the chapter menus.

I took those steps as you recommended but when I try to add a submenu it does not give me a Chapter menu, just another main menu. I think the problem is that when I am adding chapters the screen does not have the check box for "Generate chapter menu(s) and link to selected button" . If I remember correctly when MyDVD used to work properly this check box was on the "edit chapter" screen.

Why do you want to add a sub-menu? The sub-menu would be a another "main" menu and is only required if you have several titles (movies) in your project and they do not all fit on the first menu page. (for a Title) The Chapter menu is created automatically for the chapters you have created in myDVD.

Where are you adding the chapter points?

 

Assuming you have a movie showing on the main menu page…then

 

Select the movie name on the menu page screen and the Edit Chapter option should become enabled. Select it and the Edit Chapter window should appear.

Create your chapter points and make sure the “Create Chapters menu …” is enabled and then click Ok. The Chapter menu will then be created automatically

You can create "chapter markers" in Videowave and then when "send to" myDVD yoy have to convert each chapter marker to a chapter point manually (which can be a pain). Once converted, those chapter points could be used to create the chapter menu. I find this method though not very useful and a lot slower then setting the chapters in myDVD.
