Mac Only Data Dvd With Compression

djurden

Question

I want to archive backup files to a DVD. I am creating a Mac Only data dvd and have turned on the Use Compression option. How much data will fit on a single DVD. I am dragging files one-by-one onto the Toast window. I have 148 files totaling 744.57 GB. It is still showing that this will fit on 1 DVD. Does this sound correct?

Thanks

Dan

It's certainly possible. The amount of compression varies greatly depending on the file. For instance, jpeg photos are already compressed so there is very little if any additional compression. Text documents can be compressed a great amount. Since Toast can automatically span data burns to additional discs, you might take it as it comes. If Toast needs a second disc it will let you know when that time comes.
