Blu Ray Burning

redmohican

Question

I have Creator NXT and a PC with a Blu Ray burner, but I can't burn Blu Ray discs, as the option is not there. Do I need a different version of Roxio to do this please?

Have Lotsof holiday movies created in Roxio, but want to Blu Ray them.

Thankyou.

The obvious first question is "Are you sure it is a burner and not just a player? Which one do you have - Make and Model. Is it internal or USB connected?

Are the videos in high definition?

Do you have NXT or NXT Pro? I believe that you need the Pro version to author blu ray discs. You may find the Pro version on some place like Amazon or you could opt for Creator 2012 or upgrade to NXT2 Pro if you really need that option. Caution if you upgrade to NXT@2 Pro, you will lose some other functionality in NXT.

Just to make sure:

When you open MyDVD, do you not get this dialog window? Perhaps the check box to not show the options was accidentally checked.

You can still select blu ray from the file menu.

Note that the images are from Creator 2012 but should be the same in NXT and NXT2 (Pro)

Let us know if this is enough information. If you can't find the options, please post an image of what you do see in the file menu.

Hi,

Well I read your reply closely, and I don't have any blu ray options in the drop down boxes, and on the Click a disc option, blu ray is greyed out.

Perhaps as I only have Creator NXT this is the reason.

Thinking that, I tried to phone Roxio to see what version I needed etc. After two calls, each lasting over 38 minutes each, I was still being told how important my call was to them!

All I want is the correct software to do the job. Do Roxio actually want to help customers?

Your in the US?

Call this number and ask if it will work with Creator NXT, if so that is what you need.

Note the hours they are open.

Thankyou for the reply.

I am in the UK, and no joy getting through on the UK or US number. Arrrggghhhh.

All I wanted to know was if there is a plug in for NXT, or do I need to buy NXT2 or NXT2 pro.

You are being really helpful to me, but the Roxio customer services basically stinks as far as I'm concerned

Lol. That's exactly what I want to do - ask Roxio! But Roxio don't want to know.

The Roxio sales team E-mailed me and said it was a technical question with a link. The link took me to Technical support which didn't answer my question in their FAQ, so the other option was to pay $25 to speak on the phone to them! Rip off when I want to purchase something from them and have been using various versions of a Roxio since 2005!

Think I will just but the NXT2 pro and hope for the best.

Read between the lines, "Remember Roxio offers a 30 day money back if not satisfied." if ordering the NXT2 Blu-ray Plugin doesn't work with your NXT. ;)

I still think it will. :)

You never answered do you have a Blu-ray burner in th PC?

Do you have a Blu-ray player?

I did the web chat on the Corel site myguggi posted and the agent said Creator NXT2 Blu-ray Author plugin will NOT work in NXT!

She gave me a number for the OP to call in the UK so he can get the NXT plugin, "you may request for them to call our sales team at 877-582-6735 to get the plug in for NXT."

Thankyou for all your help.

I have tried all of the phone numbers you have said, without success of speaking to someone.

Am going to buy NXT2 pro online, and hopefully from a different computer seller to Roxio. If I hadn't used Roxio for so long and have so much saved in Roxio, I'd get different software from a company that has customer services that speak to you.

Thankyou again for trying for me.

There is no backward forward compatibility guaranteed in any version of Roxio!

Another seller doesn't offer a 30 day money back guarantee.

I would try the web chat like I did on the Corel forum link in above post.

I assume you are in the US, as here in the UK, all companies that offer downloads give the guarantee as part of our Sale Of Goods act, even if the software has been opened and downloaded. A lot of companies went mad when that was brought in, as people would copy the disc etc return for a refund and put the copies on a ebay - hence E-bay changing their rules.

I've just bought the NXT2 pro, so once other bits are finished on the PC, I will download.

Thankyou for being so helpful during my frustration.

Hi m8y,

As you have been so helpful to me, thought you may like to see the E-mail and reply I had from Roxio before taking up so much of your time. I will close this thread shortly.

Note where I put the issue details. Durrrhhh!

My question to Roxio:

Selected Reasons: Technical support - I have a problem using the

product.

Shopper Comments: Hi,

I have Roxio Creator NXT. Can you please tell me how to burn a Roxio

production video file onto Blu Ray, as I am just getting the DVD option.

My PC has a Blu Ray burner.

Do I need a plug in or a different version of Roxio Creator?

That question was on the Technical part of Roxio site, their reply was ...
