Roxio Possible Software Glitch - Capture Device Removed

AfterRespawn

Question

Hello everyone, I recently got the Roxio Game Capture HD PRO. Now, I've installed the roxio software, setup all the cables for the Capture device and now when I go to start capturing, the status says "Capture Device Removed". What does this mean? The cables work and on the TV screen the XBOX 360 works fine. So why does it not work for the software? The help videos don't actually show the installation so I don't know if I did anything wrong there.

I have seen this but only when something gets unplugged.

Pretty rare for a USB Cable to go bad but the port on your PC may be the issue

Try another cable...

Try another port...

Browse the Install Forum for some pictures of the Device Manager ;)

How long are the cable runs?

Thank you for replying, I have asked my father to help me with this (as he's knows a lot about this kind of stuff) and he said that I should buy a new HDMI cable just in case there's something wrong with the cable. But the laptop I use is quite old (like a few years old) but when my dad got it, it was the best of its range (of course a better laptop came out the next week) so maybe there is something wrong with the ports. I'll reply sooner.

Oh yeah, I decided to update the Roxio Software to see if that will work, I download the file and open it. It says it cannot find ROXIO Game Cap HD PRO on the system... I reinstalled the software again and it came up with the same result. Any ideas?

BTW! Plan B, so you're saying I should connect the the USB cable to another source, I guess that will be a better (if I had another source). What do you mean by connecting the HDMI cable / USB cable to a DVD Player or BD player? What would happen?

Okay, sorry to say that I don't really understand. Will this mean that I won't be able to record XBOX 360 gameplay? Or are we just doing this to see if there is something wrong with the Software and not something wrong with the XBOX 360 or cables? But I'll try and see if this will work.

Do you understand the concept of TESTING?
