Microphone Doesn't Seem To Be Getting Detected By Roxio

Question

Right, so after the whole process of getting this capture card to function even slightly like it should (which I eventually managed to do) I now don't seem to be able to get the software to recognise that I have a mic plugged in. I have the capture card set up using HDMI output and input. The game sound is being recorded, but I can't get the software to record from my mic.

At this point I would like to point out that I am using this device for livestreaming, not for recording (I know the device can't record commentary for video recordings but it says it can for livestreaming). I'm pretty sure that by plugging a mic into my PC the Roxio software should pick it up and enable me to stream with both my voice and the game sound. But as you can see in the picture below, the audio option just says none. I have tried using different mics (USB mics and normal mics that use the mic jack) and it doesn't recognise any of them.

Does anyone know what's going on with this?

Been covered here many times if you will look around a bit.

Basically, any audio must be added AT the RGC device ;)

Wait, so does that mean you can't use the HDMI input if you want to use a mic as well? Or will it work with the HDMI input and the mic plugged into the red and white audio ports?
