Usb Help?

hi guys first post, was capturing earlier like i have been for 2 months and my dog pulled the usb cable and didnt pull it out but ripped the end of my HDMI cable, now the thing is the usb sits in the slot an i get picture on my tv but as soon as i click capture i get a pic on my laptop but my tv screen goes off

 

so im not sure if the usb cable is broke(tried another and that does the same) or if the usb slot on the roxio is broke or some other reason i just dont know and have no idea what to do

 

 

any help or info???

Do you have another USB device (such as a USB stick) you can test on the USB port?

 

the usb drive on the laptop is fine and works, its as soon as i click start capture the tv screen goes off but still plays on the laptop screen so im thinking the usb slot on the roxio maybe be !@#%ed :(

LOOK closely at the ports.

 

Do you see any damage to them??? (if yes, supply a picture)

 

Just to make sure we aren't chasing a decoy, describe your setup - In Detail - from your gamebox on ^_^

 

actually managed to fix it, it was actually the HDMI cable, looked at everything else then decided to change for one from the sky box and it now works, the new hdmi cable was a speari bought from the pound shop so will be getitng a different one
