Photoshow Keeps Crashing

NUCA

Question

Have made several shows with Photoshow 6 with no problems. I uploaded to folders of photos for this photoshow. Had no problem rearranging the photos from the first folder, but everytime I click on an image from the other folder the program crashes, simply closes. I don't have the disc but downloaded it. So I don't know if I can reinstall. Any thoughts?

Does the program now work? If not, what errors are you getting? Are your images an extra large size much over 3-5000mb? You may need to resize them down. You will not lose resolution because the program slide shows are standard definition (720 by 480).

A registry cleaner will sometimes break a properly operating program; that is why I suggested removing it. Here is an article to read (link); I agree with MOST of it.. If you have things like Norton360, System Mechanic, etc. You have a registry cleaner. In 360, you can disable it, in other programs you can chose to turn it off or just not use it.

The program still does not work for this particular slide show. When the program crashes, is just closes--no error message--just closes. Many of the pictures I am using are large 5+meg, but many are jpg logo images that are well less than 1 meg. I don't seem to have any trouble moving the photos around, but when usually it is when I click on logo images it closes.

I think I may have resolved the problem. When I pulled one of the logos into photoshop, I got the following error message:"This document uses an unsupported color mode. Photoshop Elements only supports RGB, Greyscale, and Indexed color." It gave me the option to convert to rgb, which I did, and the program no longer closes when I click on it. Go figure!

Thanks so much for your help.

Yes, you can reinstall from your member's page and that would be the best way to go.

Your post is a bit confusing. Are you making the PhotoShow on the desktop version or on the on-line version?

Where are these folders you are talking about? Can you make a new folder and place a copy of the images in that folder so all you have is one to upload to the program?

Get rid of any and all registry cleaners.

Thanks for your response. I unistalled and reinstalled the program. And moved all the pix into one folder. I am using the desktop version of the program. Your message also said get rid of all registry cleaners. As you can see, I am a newbie. Can you point me to a link that can tell me how to do that? Thanks for your help!
