Using Mp3 Files To Create An Audio Cd

kcksmbut

Question

I currently use Creator 2012 Plus. I attempted to make an audio cd using mp3 files. This part of the program will not recognize mp3 files and they are not listed in the supported files listing. However, if I convert the mp3 to a .wav file, I can make the audio cd in that manner. Is there anyway that this function can be made to recognize the mp3 file for this usage. Reading some of the articles addressing supported files, mp3 is listed. If so why is my program not recognizing it for what I want to do with them. Seems like an awful lot of work to first convert to .wav and then to audio than to just converting the mp3 to audio

My recollection is that Creator 2012 Plus is a "cut down" version of the regular version. As such, it's entirely possible that eliminating the .MP3 file support in creating Audio CDs was part of the "cut down." If that's the case, then you've found the solution: convert your MP3s to .WAV files first.

I don't have that version, so I can't check it out. Possibly someone else here has it and can verify what you're seeing.

Yes Dave, MP3 support was deliberately removed from Creator 2012 as it was being converted into Creator 2012 "plus".

There was certainly nothing added to the suitelet, perhaps the name refers to "Creator, plus an envelope to store the disc in"?
