Convert Sd2F To Iso?

Question

I can't believe this hasn't been asked and answered a long time ago, but I searched the forums and online and didn't find an answer.

So...

I know that I can change the sd2f extension to iso and they will mount on my Mac. I assume they will also mount on a PC, but don't have a way to test this.

I just want to know if there's any reason not to change the extension to iso to make them more compatible and easy to mount.

I ripped my CDs to sd2f files for archiving, but when I want to use an audio converter to convert them to other formats, I have to change the Toast extension to mount them in Finder.

Hi,

I'm also interested in this. Have you ever found any solution whether this is possible at all, and if yes, how?

On the other hand, simply renaming a .Sd2f image to .iso doesn't work for me. Trying to mount that file results in an error message "image not recognized".
