Toast Data Files In Blu Ray Format Cannot Copy

Barnster

Question

Hi

I am using Toast 11.2 with LaCie Blu Ray Writer. I backed my home video files to Mac Only Data format and I have 8 blu rays disc over time. I tested randomly on each copy after written by reading and copying the disc back to hard disk.

Now, I can see the directories and subdirectories but when I launched copy, it will start to copy; I can see the filename on the destination but it does not progress further with coping status as 1%. I tried all the 8 disc with the same error. I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks.

I'm a bit confused why you want Toast to copy videos from a Blu-ray disc to a hard drive. Copying from disc to hard drive is typically done in the Finder. Toast will export videos to the hard drive using the Convert window but since you aren't wanting to convert the videos it makes sense to me to copy them in the Finder.

It's a long shot but try choosing Save as Disc Image when in the Disc Copy setting in Toast's Copy window. If that works you can mount the disc image and then copy from within it. I'm unclear when you say it won't copy if you are just trying to copy files in the Finder. I don't know why the drive stalls near the start.

Thanks.

I tried your suggestion but Toast does not have the Save as (Or I can't find). I managed to get working. I recorded via iMovie earlier and then use Toast to copy the files from hard disk to Blu Ray writer as data under Blu Ray. I can't copy from the disc to hard disk. I tried iMovie and then import - this works! I am trying to figure why.
