Roxio Creator 2012 Will Not Load. Had Problems Before But....

Question

Hello. I have a PC running Windows 7. I've had Roxio Creator 2012 since late 2011. Ran perfect for about a year and then things seemed to crash or stop working here and there. Well, today, it has just completely stopped working. Will not load the program when I click on it. It starts to load and then nothing happens. I'm not getting any error messages other than "not responding" or Windows is checking on a solution to the problem. I've tried opening it up over a dozen times today. When I actually DO get to click on something it takes FOREVER to actually load it and when the screen pops up, its just frozen. I did install some general updates today on my computer. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

Do you or have you used an aggressive Registry Cleaner on your computer - either a standalone or as part of an antivirus (like Notron 360). In the past, those gave problems because they would delted needed ragistry entries.

Turn off your antivirus and registry cleaner. Stick the original disc in your DVD drive and when the disc is read, select to repair (fix) the program. You may have to do that more than once. Same thing if you have the downloaded version, select to repair. Reboot so that your antivirus restarts but turn off that registry cleaner.

Thanks for your reply. However, I downloaded the program from Roxio, purchased it, mind you. Therefore, I have no disc. I did the repair thing and it seemed to have worked, no error messages... As of right now, it finally did open. I'm not going to close the program ever again. It seems to be working for now. I really can't believe it started working right after I posted this thread. I've been trying since 10am and it's 8 o'clock in the evening now. Good advice, though. Thanks a bunch!
