Audio!

Question

I have been using 7.0 and 7.5 for e few years and have been pleased with the functionality of it, then I bought the 8.0 and have not been so happy. My DVD in 8.0 has not been as friendly as DVD Builder. I want to know if the cranky bugs in My DVD have been fixed in 9.0 and with the addition of tracks to the timeline will I be able to add more than one video track as well as a video overlay and can I split the audio as I can in adobe and pinnacle ? I hope that I can do these things because even though I like adobe and pinnacle I still think Videowave 7.5 and DVD builder 7.5 is the most user friendly.

Just one note, although you can add video and audio to timeline in DVD Builder, MyDVD and Videowave, it is always better to construct and edit your project in videowave and save. Then add it to MyDVD or DVD Builder (in 7.5). Videowave is more flexible and you will find fewer problems if you do the compiling and editing in it. Videowave is for editing and DVD Builder and MyDVD are designed to do the authorizing. As for tracks are you counting internal as well as external? I believe there are a total of 32 tracks which include at "least" 2 video tracks, one internal and one external.

In v8 I believe you have, at least, 2 video tracks if you are using internal and external.

I think V8 and V9 are the same in this. Just a slight correction,. In VideoWave and MyDVD, there is one main video track and up to five overlay tracks external and 5 more internal for a total of 11. There are 7 audio tracks with the main one as the native, there are three additional ones in external and 3 additional in the internal.

To the OP - if you were having issues with V8, V9 is better but do not count on it to fix problems that may be hardware related (video card) or issues with problems with other software (packet writing, some anti-virus, etc.)

EMC 9 is the same as EMC8 DELUXE version when it comes to number of tracks, overlays, etc.

EMC9 does not have a way to split the native audio from the video like other applications. EMC 9 does have built-in ability for some audio cleaning. I haven't tested it to see how well that performs.

Like previous versions, EMC9 can extract the audio from a video file if you need advanced cleaning or audio editing. Just mute the native audio when you add the edited file back in another track. You then have the native audio waveform to help you get the edited audio back in sync.

I was just quoting from the Roxio Home Page discription :)

Sorry if I missquoted. :D

No need to apologize; you quoted correctly but that quote needs some punctuation added by Roxio. It could be read that there are 32 video tracks (plus the others) but it really means a total of 32 tracks including all of the video, audio, effects, text, etc. :D

I did not post about the 4 effects tracks and the 10 text tracks in my post. I think I'm still missing a couple in my count or maybe double counted one or two.

I guess my original reply was misleading, I wasn't saying there where 32 video tracks, just that there were 32 total tracks, and that there would be at "least" 2 video tracks (internal and external). I was unable to double check when answering the post. :)
