output trouble

i purchased this software recently and have not been able to output any of my projects. no matter what settings i choose to output, it doesn't work. ive tried to output it as a video file as mpeg, wmv, avi, divx and i always get a render box with a black screen telling me how long the production is and no progress is made and im forced to cancel and ctrl-alt-delete because it stops responding. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Please post your computer speces and the steps you've taken so far with a bit more detail.

well I have an HP with Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with AMD athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.00 GHz, 960 MB of RAM. I have NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE...if theres anything else let me know. Here is what I did in order. I opened a .wmv file i had and decided to add some features to it (text, music). after doing that, i saved my project and clicked on the output button...i chose video file as my destination, purpose: all and NTSC, Ive tried various types of video file quality, such as MPEG-2 for DVD, I entered a file name and clicked create video file, when i click that, a box pops up that shows a black screen and the progress made, which is 0% completed, and im forced to cancel...

Which driver version are you running for your Nvidia card?

When I had that same type of problem outputting files, all I did was install the latest drivers for my video card, and the no-output problem went away. If you are already running the latest, try uninstalling them, then reinstall them. That should cause EMC 9 to "re-configure" or "re-calibrate" your video setup.
