Toast Titanium 11.2 Web Capture

GavinO

Question

Wonder if anyone can assist. Not sure if I'm missing something obvious. I have installed Titanium 11.2 on a Macbook Pro 2,7GHz i7, with OSX 10.9.4. I cannot get it to capture web video, have tried You Tube and Vimeo. Thing is I had Titanium on a previous iMac and it worked exactly described, capturing from almost any source. I am using Safari, which is supposed to work.

This is the only reason I bought Toast again, so quite annoying that I can't get it to work.

Interestlingly enough, I had had a problem with Jaksta no longer supporting You Tube pictures. If I remember correctly, their helpful personnel suggested I capture the URL and restart the video from that. That seemed to help! I re-captured Kino McGregor's yoga lessons(!) I repeat that Toast 12 on my Imac will also capture Kino and others (without url management) but Toast 11 on the MacbookPro will not hear of it. Does anyone know if Roxio intends to update its capture functions?

I bought this a while back with the same intent as GavinO. Namely to pull streaming media.

I paid $100 for this software, and it doesn't do much of anything. Won't pull streaming video. Today, I tried to record streaming audio. Nope. Seems like it requires you download and install "Audio Capture Support." What kind of software costs $100 and then requires that you download the components separately to make it work?

Well, tried to download and install about 9 times and get error message at the end of installation that says "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact software manufacturer for assistance."

No codes. No explanation. And as far as I can tell, no reasonable way to get an answer from the manufacturer.

I thought Roxio was a reputable software co. What happened to them!?

I feel like I was essentially ripped off. Could burn a DVD or CD using iTunes. Is that all Toast and Spin Doctor do? Or am I totally missing something?

Thanks.

I don't think Web Capture is working. I believe it was designed to capture Flash videos and it isn't working with the h.264 videos that are now common. If this is why you bought Toast, take advantage of Roxio's 30-day refund policy for online purchases. Search Macupdate.com and the App Store for Web video capture applications.
