seanloche 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2014 I am having an issue with the Roxio HD Pro where it will not allow me to capture in anything other than 480p. When I go to the options tab to adjust this to 720 or 1080, the only option which is available is 480p. Could this be a software glitch?
0 d_deweywright 117 Report post Posted July 23, 2014 It will only allow you to capture up to the resolution that it's receiving. What is your source device, and what is it's output set to be?
0 seanloche 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2014 (edited) The source device is a DirecTV unit. I work for a production company and we own the rights to all video that is being captured. The source outputting is set to 1080i. It is running HDMI. Any thoughts? Thanks for the help! Edited July 24, 2014 by seanloche
0 d_deweywright 117 Report post Posted July 24, 2014 Is there any chance that the signal from the DirecTV unit has HDCP on it, and might be limiting the resolution to the Capture device to 480p? Does the DirecTV unit have Component output jacks you could try? (And if so, is it 1080i?) I'm quite thoroughly guessing here, but that's the best I can come up with at this point. Maybe someone else will jump in here with some other ideas.
0 Jim_Hardin 418 Report post Posted July 24, 2014 No other guesses Dave! As you pointed out, the RGC will not show any resolution above what it is receiving I don't think it is actually output above 480 on the DirectTV Box. If it was an HDCP issue it will show a Red 'Signal Protected' in place of the Green 'Ready'. Easy test is to hook up ANY Other HDMI source or try it with Component cables.
